My child stayed around a friends house for a sleepover last night. When she was getting ready for bed I noticed marks on her back, tummy and arms with a couple on her legs. They are red and a little itchy for her. I can send a picture if required. Thanks.May 29, 2014 at 12:46 PM #2291
Have a look at this article about flea bites and bed bug bites. Your daughter is most likely the victim of one of the two.
If you are in doubt or concerned about insect bites, I would recommend contacting your local doctor and let him/her take a closer look. Pictures can sometimes be misleading, so I can only give advice on what it might be. Your doctor can tell you for sure.May 29, 2014 at 1:08 PM #2292
Hi well I know the dog that the family has, has most definately got fleas for it is constantly scratching. I did put some cream on her bites and they have gone down since but I will look at the information you have provided. Thanks.April 23, 2018 at 5:02 AM #81237
Hi, The exact same thing happened to my daughter today from sleeping over a friends house that has dogs. Thanks to the article in the post above, I was able to identify the bites being from fleas. My question is why was my daughter the only one to get bit? My daughter noticed her friend did not have any bites on her, and she was the only one scratching. I’ll give her friends parents the benefit of doubt they would invite my kid for a sleepover knowing their house has fleas. So why was she the only one bit? We do not have pets in our house in case that has something to do with it.
PS I hate sleepovers lol
