We have been getting bitten by fleas for over a month now. We have lived here for 3 years then all of a sudden we are infested with fleas. We do not have any pets. We tried flea bombs and sprays with no luck. We finally moved everything out of the home as if we were moving out, and I mean everything. We got the landlords permission to tear out all the carpet (something she wanted done anyways since it was old and beyond cleaning). We bombed and sprayed and set flea traps. We stayed gone for 2 weeks while visiting family and had our stuff in storage except the furniture, which we threw away since it was old and broke down. We came back to the house and washed all the walls and floors. We put another set of bombs and left again for 2 days, then came back to wash the walls and floors again and there were at least twice as many fleas if not more. The only thing we moved back in was our kitchen table and our tv, computer, and playstation. We bought some new clothes and a couple air mattresses. We all have hundreds of flea bites daily. They jump on our food while we try to eat, they jump in the bath tub when we shower, and they jump all over us when we lay down at night to go to sleep. We called a professional who uses the same bombs we did but wants $175. We even used a yard flea treatment because we do have opossums in our neighborhood. I don’t know what else to do. We are currently looking for a new home to move into, but I’m afraid those little buggers will follow us somehow. Now we even have fleas in our cars! My friend came over to visit for a few minutes, only came in the living room and stood for about 5 minutes, went home and found 3 fleas on her shirt. Now her 2 cats are infested and the vets flea treatments won’t work on her pets. Help!July 30, 2017 at 9:18 AM #71649
Did you find the cause?November 14, 2017 at 11:03 AM #73658
This is sad but I feel your pain. We suffer from the same problem. No pets. All hardwood floors. We would bomb the house and they would just keep coming back. It is quite upsetting. I would have tried anything to fix the problem. One day we came across a product for our lawns. They were nematodes from fleabusters. We treated our lawns (front and back) and bombed our house one more time. We were flea free from that point on for 2 years! I was a happy camper. They are now back again but instead of bombing our house a million times, we will do it once and treat our lawns again with the nematodes. I hope this helps.
