I have a 1 year old Basset Hound. He is constantly infested with fleas. When we wash him, it kills the fleas but some of the dead ones we can’t get off him with a flea comb around his legs and inner ears. The whole house is full of fleas. And they’re eating my son alive. The dog is constantly itching and yelping due to the itching. I’m sure he’s sore and irritated. I’ve tried spraying vinegar and water almost daily and vacuum. Washing bedding. Bathing him in vinegar, antibacterial soap, and water, even regular doggie flea shampoo. It has to be oatmeal flavoured because most things are irritating. But they still seem to infest him on a daily basis. I’m at my wits end and I don’t want to get rid of the dog but what am I to do. I can’t use chemicals because the dog is allergic to lots of things. Please help me so my kids can keep their dog. Also I tried a few different flea collars, but none of them have worked. I wanted to try medicine (pills) but I’ve been unsuccessful in what I bought thus far and I don’t want to spend a lot of money as I’m on a budget and it possibly doesn’t work. These oral meds are expensive. Can you please help me.August 2, 2017 at 9:25 AM #72164
Im just like you. I live with friends and we have one dog and two cats. My cats doesn’t seem to scratch that much and i treat them and i treat the entire house with toxic stuff just to be sure it kills everything and now my baby has bald spots over his fur but i don’t even see him biting it off. Im also at my wits end.
