My 13 week German Shepherd has flea allergy. We also have 2 other dogs. All have been treated using advocate. But he’s still scratching and biting. It’s driving him and us insane. I understand that one bite can set him off. So he could get it even outside the home. I’m at my wits end to know what else to do.
Bedding washed. Carpets vacuumed.
We have the exact problem. Our German Shepherd is 7 years old and has an extreme allergy to fleas. One bit and a he breaks out itching and biting all over.. not just the one spot. We are constantly grooming him and have tried many topical flea treatments with no success, since they don’t repel the flea, he still gets bitten so he breaks out. Our next step is to have our yard sprayed to see if that helps. Our vet recommend steroids but we don’t like the side effects. However, if the yard sprays don’t work, that may be our next option. Spraying with apple cider vinegar helps repel the fleas, but it is a short term solution and needs to be done several times a day.
