Last night I suddenly felt something that bit my left leg while I was driving home in the car. I thought it was a mosquito. I moved my foot around hoping to get rid of it. Most of the night I felt itchy but did not think anything about it. I woke up with what I think are flea bites on my arms, legs, stomach, feet, all over my body and it just seems like I am getting more and more as the day passes.. Is it really just flea bites or could it be something else?August 2, 2017 at 9:26 AM #72100
Omg! I am going through the same thing. It started with 1 bite on my ankle. Carpets cleaned yesterday and i have many bites and itching all over. I think we both have fleas!August 16, 2017 at 3:25 PM #72370
I inherited 4 cats (indoor only) two years ago, and I HATE SUMMER thanks to the fleas. I found that using equal parts baking soda and salt sprinkled on carpets, swept into the carpet to distribute deep, then left for hours to overnight before vacuuming works well. Do this daily for a good few weeks. I use a condiment bottle with the long tip to “squirt” the powder under the entertainment center and other large furniture then just leave it. For yourself, use something like Bug Soother, it’s a more gentle and natural method than OFF, it not only works for mosquitos but will also keep fleas off if you keep spraying yourself. For my cats I use a product from Little City Dogs (much cheaper than commercial options from vets and works GREAT) that you sprinkle onto the cat’s food and will cause the fleas to jump off the pets.
I get the dog version and use 1 capsule sprinkled in a can of wet cat food to split among the 4 cats, and during infestations I do this every other day rather than daily. Doing all of these things worked like a charm last year and unfortunately I need to do it all over again now. Big sigh.
