Flea Bite Allergies

Allergic to Flea Bites?

Allergic reactions to flea bites in humans include a red, irritated "halo" around each bite, dermatitis, lesions, and mild to severe itxhing. Any over the counter anti-histamine can help lessen these symptoms. Relief from the itching can be found by applying ice, menthol, calamine lotion or camphor. If your reaction does not imporve or worsens within 24 hours go and see your doctor to make sure it's not something more serious.

Dogs who are experiencing an allergic reaction will often scratch and gnaw at their skin until they become bald in the areas of heavy biting. Take the poor animal to the vet for diagnosis and teatment.
